Medical School

I attended the University of Sydney Medical School from 1974 to 1978, graduating M.B.,B.S. in 1979.

Remote Pathway

The belief of my year at medical school was that the best training would be had in the country, so I did my internship at Wollongong / Port Kembla hospitals, followed by working in Broken Hill, Cessnock, Mount Isa and Cloncurry. After moving to Bundaberg, I did work in Bundaberg and surrounding areas until moving to Griffith in 1990. I have also worked part time in Hay. The purple markers indicate where I have worked.


1997 Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners achieved by examination

1999 Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine achieved by consideration of my prior experience and qualifications.

Aboriginal Studies

In 2011 I completed two short courses on Aboriginal Culture, and Partnering with Aboriginal communities.

Master of Education

I have now completed the degree Master of Education at University of Cincinnati.


I have maintained full Australian medical registration.

I have maintained Fellowship status with ACRRM
